SpaceForest Partners with EuroSpaceport – First International Space Mission of Polish PERUN Rocket from a Sea Launch Platform
SpaceForest, a Polish research and technology company based in Gdynia, has signed a landmark contract with EuroSpaceport – a state-of-the-art sea-based spaceport supported by the European Space Agency (ESA). This agreement covers the first international space mission of the Polish suborbital rocket PERUN, scheduled for launch in the second half of 2026 from a sea platform located in the North Sea, off the coast of Denmark.

The 2026 launch will test launch procedures, experiments and bring us closer to full commercialization
PERUN rocket launch will primarily focus on verifying launch procedures under nominal suborbital mission parameters, following international space operation standards. This critical step ensures the rocket system’s performance, paving the way for its certification and commercialization.
Onboard the rocket will be a 50 kg payload of scientific and technological experiments developed by universities, research institutes and commercial partners. The mission will also enable research in microgravity conditions and testing of new technologies in real spaceflight environments.
Additionally, the flight will test the precise thrust vector control (TVC) system, rocket engine, recovery systems, , telecommunication and payload integration infrastructure. Demonstrating a launch from a floating platform presents unique technical and environmental challenges, highlighting SpaceForest’s advanced capabilities.
The collaboration with EuroSpaceport is supported by funding from the European Space Agency (ESA), confirming the project’s feasibility and the strategic importance of the partnership. This funding opens new opportunities for further development of the PERUN rocket and expansion of the Danish sea-based spaceport.
Space Mission Highlights:
- Launch window: Second half of 2026
- Spaceport: EuroSpaceport
- Location: Launch platform in the North Sea off the coast of Denmark
- Mission objectives:
- Verify PERUN rocket’s compliance with foreign spaceport launch procedures
- Confirm PERUN rocket operation under nominal suborbital flight parameters
- Demonstrate launch from a floating platform and test thrust vector control (VTC) system
- Conduct scientific research and technological experiments in spaceflight and microgravity conditions
