Preliminary Design Review in SSPA project for ESA

Recently we completed the PDR (Preliminary Design Review) of the project for European Space Agency – ESA: “Development and Production of a 5-10kW Solid State Power Amplifier at 7.2GHz for Satellite Uplink Communication”.

The objective of this project is to develop a high-power amplifier, based on solid state technology (SSPA), capable of delivering at least 5kW of RF output power in continuous wave (CW) operation. The centre frequency is 7,19GHz with 90MHz of usable bandwidth. The design shall be easy to extend / up-scale to achieve 10kW of output power. Our partners in this project are Fraunhofer IAF and TRUMPF Hüttinger (the leader of this project).
