ESA Juice mission finally launched. What was our contribution?

On April 14, Ariane 5 rocket took off from the Guiana Space Centre with ESA’s JUICE (Jupiter Icy Moon Explorer) spacecraft πŸš€ πŸ›° πŸŒ•

The main objective of the mission is to visit Jupiter’s system to study its three Galilean moons: Ganymede, Callisto and Europa. Thanks to the #JUICE mission, we will learn whether conditions on these icy satellites of Jupiter are suitable for the development and support of life. The spacecraft carries 10 powerful research instruments, including cameras, spectrometers and an ice-penetrating radar. It is expected to reach the Jupiter system in 2031.

For the #JUICE mission, the SpaceForest team built elements of the test environment for the onboard data collection system – the Data Management Control System (DMCS) computer – and batch codes to support its storage. The work was conducted jointly with RUAG Space from Sweden (now Beyond Gravity).
