MLO – Master Local Oscillator project

On May 14th, 2019, at the Critical Design Review (CDR) meeting at ESTEC, we have achieved an important milestone of the Dual Redundant Medium Power Master Signal Source, also named MLO – Master Local Oscillator project.

The project is a continuation of another successful project of the high-reliability local oscillator operating at 8.6 GHz integrated with a down-converter hybrid developed by RUAG Space AB. The MLO, although similar in function, includes some extensions in comparison to the previously completed generator.

After a successful CDR meeting, we have entered the final stage of the project. The goal is to achieve TRL7 using the qualified engineering model (EQM) by December 2019. The MLO device is designed to operate for more than 15 years in geostationary orbit (GEO).
