PERUN Suborbital Rocket Test Flight – Pre-Launch Meeting In Gdynia

As preparations for the PERUN suborbital rocket test flight intensify, SpaceForest welcomed partners and clients to its headquarters in Gdynia for a pre-launch meeting. This special gathering brought together representatives of institutions and companies whose research payloads will fly on the upcoming mission, planned for autumn 2025 from the Central Air Force Training Range in Ustka, Poland.

During this mission, we will validate rocket systems, integrate research payloads with the launch platform, and conduct scientific and technological experiments under real suborbital flight conditions. In addition, the flight will complete the first of four milestones under our Boost! contract with ESA, strengthening European space transportation capabilities. Moreover, launching from a Polish range marks an important step in building national rocket competence. As a result, the event will raise public awareness of the potential of the Polish space sector and confirm that our safety procedures meet the highest international standards.

This event highlighted the collaborative spirit driving the PERUN programme. By bringing together research teams, industry partners and the SpaceForest engineering team, we are collectively paving the way for new opportunities in European space transportation and suborbital research.

Research Payloads and Experiments

For the first time in the history of Polish space technology, research payloads and scientific experiments will fly on a fully domestically developed rocket.

These Experiments* include:

  • THOR 1/2 – study of the effects of overload on biological culture media
  • THOR 2/2 – cultivation of living bone cells in microscale biological systems
  • RESQ – study of the RESQ™ Cuff Compression Force Stability under Suborbital Conditions
  • AstroFarms Kombucha – research on SCOBY cultures in suborbital flight conditions
  • Toraf Seeds – study of seed germination under extreme launch and flight conditions
  • SpaceForest Advanced Electronics – verification of durability and quality of space-grade components
  • Commercial payloads – demonstration and promotional activities

*More details about research payloads will be shared in a dedicated article soon.
