Explore the Use of HUSSAR Portable X-band (Synthetic Aperture Radar) at RadarConf’25 in Krakow.

HUSSAR Portable X-band SAR Radar will be presented at RadarConf’25 in Krakow. This advanced system delivers high-resolution, all-weather imaging for defense, monitoring, and UAV integration.

What is Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)?

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging involves mounting a radar on a carrier – such as a UAV, aircraft, or satellite – and flying over the target area to “scan” the illuminated terrain. Unlike optical imaging using IR or visible light cameras, radar imaging can be performed regardless of day or night and in any weather, including clouds, fog, rain, smoke, or dust.

Advanced Capabilities of HUSSAR Portable X-band (Synthetic Aperture Radar)

Portable SAR radars are advanced radar imaging systems enabling real-time ground monitoring in any weather conditions. With X-band radar waves, the system can penetrate clouds, fog, rain, or snow, providing clear imagery even in complete darkness.

HUSSAR Portable X-band (synthetic aperture radar) combines high-resolution imaging with mobility and versatility, representing a new generation of portable SAR system for terrain monitoring under all conditions.

Three HUSSAR Modes – using HUSSAR Portable X-band SAR Radar for high-resolution terrain mapping, change detection, and moving target observation

HUSSAR DRONE – compact lightweight SAR radar for small UAVs, enabling terrain observation and target detection.
HUSSAR DRONE – Suspended under multirotor drones.
HUSSAR INTEGRATED – lightweight UAV SAR radar for terrain mapping, change detection and defense surveillance.
HUSSAR INTEGRATED – with a UAV or aircraft as an onboard component.
HUSSAR POD – airborne SAR radar for terrain imaging, change detection and target identification in defense and commercial missions.
HUSSAR POD – Mounted in a POD under UAVs or crewed aircraft.

HUSSAR POD

Airborne SAR radar for terrain imaging, change detection and target identification in defense and commercial missions. Mounted under UAVs or crewed aircraft, enabling rapid deployment as a SAR Radar HUSSAR POD System without integration.

HUSSAR INTEGRATED

Integrated directly into a UAV or aircraft as an onboard component, SAR Radar HUSSAR Integrated improves aerodynamics, reduces drag, lowers energy consumption, and extends flight time. It is also better protected and does not disturb the platform’s center of gravity, enhancing flight stability.

HUSSAR DRONE

Compact lightweight SAR RADAR HUSSAR Drone for small UAVs, enabling terrain observation and target detection. Suspended under multirotor drones for rapid deployment in search & rescue, patrol, and inspection missions in hard-to-reach areas.

Operational advantages and applications of HUSSAR SAR Radar

Unlike satellite observation systems, HUSSAR is ready for immediate deployment, providing on-demand radar imaging and real-time situational awareness. The system is ideal for:

  • Real-time ground surveillance with HUSSAR Portable SAR system,
  • High-precision moving target detection using X-band HUSSAR Radar,
  • Detection of hidden objects in all-weather conditions using Synthetic Aperture Radar technology,
  • Support for military operations, border security, and rescue missions.

Integration into the UAV body increases resistance to mechanical damage, weather conditions, and electromagnetic interference. It allows for optimal balance and additional payloads, including electronic warfare systems, optical sensors, or armaments.

HUSSAR excels in military missions, search & rescue operations, scientific research, and monitoring of critical infrastructure. With Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, it can also be used for flood monitoring and crisis management, improving response speed and assessment accuracy.
