SpaceForest has been invited by RUAG Space AB from Sweden to join their team working on “Jupiter Icy Moon Explorer” (JUICE).

Activities of SpaceForest’s engineers are focused on “Control Data Management System” (CDMS).

The JUICE mission, planned and financed by European Space Agency (ESA), involves use of a spacecraft designed by Airbus Defence and Space. The main goal of the mission is to visit the Jovian system to study three of Jupiter’s Galilean moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa.

The launch is planned in 2022 using Ariane 5 carrier rocket with arrival at the Jupiter system in 2030. By 2033 the spacecraft should enter the orbit of Ganymede, after completion of various maneuvers around Jupiter and the other moons. The instruments on board include cameras, spectrometers, and an ice-penetrating radar.
