SpaceForest has been invited by RUAG Space AB from Sweden to join their team working on “Jupiter Icy Moon Explorer” (JUICE).

The activities of SpaceForest’s engineers are focused on “Control Data Management System” (CDMS).

The JUICE mission, planned and financed by European Space Agency (ESA), involves the use of a spacecraft designed by Airbus Defence and Space. The main goal of the mission is to visit the Jovian system to study three of Jupiter’s Galilean moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa.

The launch of Ariane 5 carrier rocket is planned for 2022 with its arrival at the Jupiter system in 2030. By 2033 the spacecraft should enter the orbit of Ganymede, after completion of various maneuvers around Jupiter and other moons. The instruments on board include cameras, spectrometers, and an ice-penetrating radar.
